NEXEN Tyres
Founded in 1942 as Heung-A Tyre, Nexen Tyre has over 60 years of tradition as a respected leader within the tyre industry and is widely acknowledged as Korea's first tyre company, before later progressing to manufacturing car tyres in 1956. Over 30 years later, the company was expanded through the construction of a radial tyre factory in Yangsan, Korea. Through an alliance six years later with a Japanese company, OHTSU Tire & Rubber; they combined their knowledge to enhance their technological know-how and manufacturing capabilities.
In 2000 they changed their company name from Woosung Tyre to Nexen Tyre Corporation - the name "Nexen" comes from the combination of the words: next and century. They have built themselves a growing reputation thanks to their commitment to quality products, friendly service and exceptional value and this has seen a rise in their domestic market share, with annual sales now exceeding $600 million dollars and they now have exports in 120 countries worldwide.
